What is Soy Wax?
Soy wax is a natural wax made from the oil of soybeans, a renewable plant resource grown widely around the world. The extraction process starts with cleaning and de-hulling the soybeans, then flaking them to prepare for oil extraction. Soybean oil is obtained through solvent extraction or mechanical pressing, and it is refined to remove impurities. The crucial step, hydrogenation, changes the liquid oil into solid wax by saturating unsaturated fats, which raises the melting point and hardness. After filtration and purification, the refined soy wax shows excellent consistency, firmness, and clean-burning properties, making it a top choice for various uses.
